I lost it when the woman flipped out over the destruction of her Hermès bag. Too funny.

It would have to be the mum "attacking" the "escaping" convertible with tennis balls fired via her racquet, wouldn't it?🐭

According to the booklet that comes with the Criterion DVD, the actress IMPROVISED the line about the Hermes bag.

Godard didn't like the actress, but he had to admit that he wished he'd thought up her line for the dialogue.

For me, the scene where the young rich couple have crashed their Triumph into a tractor and the woman won't accept it's her fault. And later, the phone booth man with the red Porsche.

"People don't go to the movies to be depressed - that's what the theatre's for!"
