It is a shame it isn't on tv more often considering that it is a great funny movie with an outstanding cast. Carroll O'Connor was outstanding and of course he was to go on to become very famous in All in the Family. This movie is not one of the great movies but it is one that you can really enjoy watching.
this was one of the worst films I have ever seen. I wasted 95 minutes of my time that I will never get back. I am surprised to see that it got that many stars.
It helps to quote before you answer. I 'm gonna guess your question was directed at me. Again since when is raping a woman funny? It has nothing to do with sensitivity either geesh!
The "rape" in this film was so designated by the girl's father, who couldn't imagine that his little girl had sex. Did the girl herself ever claim to have been raped? She seemed to spend the rest of the film trying to get back with James Coburn. That doesn't sound like a rape victim, it sounds more like a hot-blooded girl who wanted more of a good thing. Who else but her father ever said she was raped? Serious question, please reply.
I saw this movie over 2 years ago. I didn't like it then and have no good reason to watch it over to reply to your question. Sorry you hadn't seen it sooner so that it would be more than just a distant memory to be able to reply .
I find it interesting and very indicative of our social media world that you guys can continue a discussion/argument/thread, whatever you want to call it, over a two year period. Fascinating...
