Just got the DVD... (spoilers within)

I pretty much liked this film although the ending was not very satisfying. As a previous poster mentioned... a toy gun for a dog??? And with heroin in it?? Why did the doc have the drugs in the gun?

At one point I thought Tom's cop buddy had something to do with the missing gun. So it does kind of surprise you when you find out the playboy pilot was in on it.

I had heard about this film for many years and it was cool to finally get and watch it.

Enjoyed the big name guest stars and...Joan Collins looked pretty hot too!

Barry Morse should have guested as one of the bad guys!

When they were digging up the mutt it reminded me of the Seinfeld ep, where Jerry and Cosmo dig up Fredo the bird for a key!

When I saw that cast list, I'm thinking "Someone's not gonna get a lot of screen time". I would have liked to see more of Joan Collins and Steve Allen's scumbag TV commentator. And, yeah, why would Geo. Grizzard help him dig up evidence when he's in on it; he already tried to kill him once; why not just shoot him when you had the drop on him; if you can find out where he lives, turn the gas off and on again on him and drug his milk, how come you didn't realize he had other guns?

I just saw this movie for the first time and saw so many recognizable faces in the same film. I thought for a moment that I was watching an Irwin Allen movie. LOL

As for allowing Valens to dig up the grave of Caesar, it does look a bit illogical since he was in on the smuggling scheme. My guess is that he wanted for him to locate the grave to find the Doctor's gun with the heroin. But since he did try earlier to gas him to death, the subsequent plot scenes did not quite make sense. It looked as if he wanted Valens to find out about the entire scheme and then play a bluffing game with him before he shoots him.
