It is truly surprising that this movie is not more popular than it is..! This movie used to be shown quite often during the 70's on regular local television channels. I expected that with Mr. Quinn's passing, this movie along with the Secret of Santa Vittoria would make a come back. I am truly disappointed that it hasn't.
By the way, how dare someone use the same title for a new movie...?
I do not remember when exactly, I saw this film, but I have never forgotten it. Not many films make me cry out loud, but this one did. I have searched every catalogue and rental movie outlet for the past several years to find this work, without any luck. There is a link on this site which I hope will be safe and secure so that I may obtain a copy of this remarkable piece of work. For anyone reading this, I highly recomend this film as one of Anthony Quinn's finest performances, ever!

I read the book long time ago but forgot the author name. Several weeks ago, I found on internat so I bought the book and read again. I cried during my reading. I did not see the movie but heard about it. I really want to watch this move. If you know where I can get a copy of the movie I really appreciated it.

quinn was truly exquisite but do read the book by C. Virgil Gheorghiu upon which the movie is based ,,, the movie version while undoubtedly a work of art and mostly true to the book does not have the same texture as the book

I have been looking for The 25th Hour on VHS, I was wondering if anyone had any luck. My father watched this movie when he was like 16 at Radio City Music Hall, and fell in love with the movie it has been his goal to find it. So I have taken it upon myself to find it... last year I gave him The 25th Hour Record Soundtrack I found on ebay for 3 dollars, he was so happy, I just really love making him happy, so I have made it a goal to give him the movie before he dies... The best place I can suggest is the public library. The book and a VHS version of the movie are in mine here in LI. I can't find any listing on B&N for either book or the movie. Part of problem is re-use of title by a newer film.

I was mindblown when I saw it adverstied on TCM Australia at 6:30 pm on 16 June, so I rushed out and bought a DVD-RAM.
As I was going out that night, I started recording but to my horror, the DVD finished about 5 minutes before the end. AAAAARRGGGGHHH!
However, I do have most of it and it was fantastic to see it again. I'm happy to let anyone have a copy, but it is in Australian format.

I saw this when it first came out, while I was in the US Navy. I have told many people about it, but no one that I talked to has ever seen it, and I have never seen it since. Nice piece of work, but I always found it amusing that the Nazis would think he was a fine example of an Aryan. Anthony Quinn has played many nationalities in his career, but the Aryan was a stretch.
