TCM has the rights to this movie, and it infrequently shows it. I taped it in 1997 off TCM. The TCM broadcast I taped was 119 minutes long, not the 130 minutes listed in IMdb. This AR 2.35 broadcast was probably an edited US release version. Anthony Quinn’s birthday is April 15, so TCM may show it that date next year as part of a birthday salute to Quinn. TCM is showing Guns for San Sebastian on December 3, another reteaming of Quinn and director Henri Verneuil.
In doing a search, I found that TCM UK will be showing this movie on Tuesday, October 11, 19:00. Maybe the US TCM programmers will follow the lead of TCM UK and schedule The 25th Hour.

shareI have been looking for The 25th Hour on VHS, I was wondering if anyone had any luck. My father watched this movie when he was like 16 at Radio City Music Hall, and fell in love with the movie it has been his goal to find it. So I have taken it upon myself to find it... last year I gave him The 25th Hour Record Soundtrack I found on ebay for 3 dollars, he was so happy, I just really love making him happy, so I have made it a goal to give him the movie before he dies... So if you have any iformation I would so love you...

It could be found at Robert's Hard To Find Videos in Canada for $24.95, as it was already said, but if you look carefully, it is offered on DVD-R media which means that it would be burned to that media. So, it was probably a VHS captured to DVD.
I suspect that movie has passed to public domain. I own 18 years old VHS tape of that movie (TV capture), but I was told that TV captures in Spanish, French and Italian languages could be found on P2P network.

the movie's length....at least the copy i have is 1h:53min. it's in digital format, audio videointerleaved avi and i found it after hard search on emule.not good thing to do but i wanted this piece of art. even if i am romanian, the access to the film was prohibited till the comunism collapsed.Quinn's performance is astonishing real just as the romanian peasant is iconised since all times...pure hearted.
it worths every second watching it !
you may be Romanian but your information is wrong - the movie wasn't exactly prohibited, it just didn't get a general release : I saw it twice in 1985 and 1987 at cinema Eforie [cinemateca] in Bucharest. And it made a lasting impression on me, I also have the original book the film is based on. It is running again on TCM tonight [April 14] and i hope it will get a release on DVD soon.
shareI just bought the DVD from Amazon.com for $45 and it was worth every penny. It comes with Korean subtitles but those can be turned off from the Subtitles menu. Just got done watching this copy and it is a very good print.
