This is one of my favorite movies...

When will the studios release a dvd of this? I have a nice copy, but waiting for the studios to get smart.

Is it possible for you to send it to a 60s spy film fan living in Australia?

My recollection is that this was an excellent film, and I haven't seen it since it was first released. Elke Sommer was a bit of cliche by the time it was made, and Robert Vaughan's casting (taking advantage of his Man from U.N.C.L.E. fame) was another one, and I think that's why more people stayed away from it. But both the leads did an excellent job, and the movie had atmosphere to spare. But what I mainly remember is Boris Karloff, who was absolutely fantastic. I bring up this movie every time his name comes up, because it's just about my favorite Karloff performance. He knew how to use his old age in the film, his vulnerability and fragility. One other thing I remember is that the title song over the closing credits was sung by (!!!) Julius LaRosa.

"The Venetian Affair" has now been released on DVD-R by Warner Archives. It is available on-line from various e-tailers. Probably the best price will be from ImportCDs.

The film is shown in its correct aspect ratio and in colour. The images are a bit blurred and smudged but quite watchable, particularly on a small screen.
