DVD will be out by September!

I e-mailed Edwin who handles the DVD catalogue at Paramount in London. he said it should be released either in July or August this year!

Ask him, if you want confirmation officially:

Thats great news. A brilliant film

Is this the end of the story?
Or the beginning of a legend?

reply

Edwin is hoping to get the DVD on the market by August. Oh joy.

reply

Can't wait! I'm looking forward to this release than any other pre-release on DVD.

reply

I asked Edwin. It will be on DVD by the end of August, and the release date will be on amazon.co.uk very soon!

I've worn out my old VHS tape of this. Why has this taken so long to get to DVD? I can't understand it. You'd think for the interest in Manfred Mann alone it would be issued. The soundtrack cd has been out for years.

reply

That's what I've said a few times. My VHS recording off Sky Cinema (UK) I've had since 2002 and played just twice. I had a tv recording from 1990 and must have played that about 10 times. I grew up in Clapham not very far from where they shot some of it. One of the best British flicks. On DVD within the next three months- bliss!

Amazon have a release date of August 18

As an ex-pat living in Canada, any idea whether it will be released here?

I have what I assume is a pirate copy but will certainly be buying the official one. This is fantastic news.

Tread carefully, because you tread on my dreams.

I just searched for the film on Netflix and if the DVD exists, it is not available through the site.

As some of you may know, the UK band Squeeze had a hit in the Seventies with a great pop-rock song by the same name.

reply

It is now widely available, you'll find it easily.

The image transfer and sound are quite good. They also included some english subtitles, which is a good idea for those who're not familiar with the slang or accent from Battersea.

An interesting, deep movie to discover.
