Two English dubs...

The Criterion DVD offers this film (letterboxed) with both Japanese and English-language soundtracks. The English dub on the DVD is different from the English dub on the TV print that American International (and, later, Orion) distributed to television for over 40 years. The English dub on the Criterion disc has the western characters, including Lisa (Peggy Neal), speak with German accents. It sounds terrible. I guess it's a rights issue, but they should have made the effort to get the original English dub which was done in the late '60s.
