Why is TLAMLIL little seen?

The documentary—it's not a movie—contains a lot of priceless footage of a time and place that is still a hot topic. This amazing archive is ignored by programme makers. Is it because TLAMLIL is mistakenly categorised as a film of Pink Floyd peforming? Yes, the Floyd profide some not all of the music and, yes, they are filmed performing, but TLAMLIL is much more about the attitudes and hopes of the period as articulated by its leading proponents. Why this important aspect is overlooked is a mystery. With regards to the Floyd, TLAMLILcontains possibly the only footage of the late Syd Barrett performing coherently yet none of the footage was included in the recent broadcast tributes to him.

"Pink Floyd London 66-67" si not "Tonite Let's All Make Love in London" - it is footage shot for the film, but lots of it is "unseen" in the actual film. Also, lots of TLAMLIL - the interviews with Lee Marvin eyc - are not in the Floyd short.

Peter Whitehead did a fascinating session at the National Film Theatre/BFI in London about 12/13 years ago where he showed loads of his "lost footage" (rediscovered in his barn!) including Stones and Small Faces. Great stuff.

Yes the Floyd are in the movie for what seems like seconds. A tiny excerpt from "Interstellar Overdrive" kicks off a montage of other unrelated stuff. It's not a bad movie, but if you're tracking it down just to see some rare Floyd, you're probably going to be disappointed.

Perhaps the music rights issues make it prohibitively expensive to release?
