Story is based on reality

I read the posted review where the statement "The premise of the commandos masquerading as Afrika Korps I found a bit much," and got a chuckle out of that. Last night I watched a program on the Military Channel which was all about the SIG, which was in face German Jews who disguised themselves as Afrika Korps and did in fact attack Tobruk. Though the film does of course take some liberties, the essential plot of the film is real. Interesting, ain't it? Good movie. I haven't seen it in a few years, now I'd like to watch it again just to compare my thoughts before this revelation, and after.
