TOO MANY CONFUSING DESERT BASED FILMS IN THIS PERIOD.

I get confused by all the similar desert war films made in this period.

There was this one, then PLAY DIRTY,then RAID ON ROMMEL
Can some well informed IMDB person tell us which ones are worth watching?

there are three good b/w British films made in the 1950's - Sea Of Sand , The Desert Rats and the classic Ice Cold In Alex

reply

Ice Cold In Alex "probably the best WW2 desert movie"

reply

PLAY DIRTY 8/10
Tobruk 7/10
RAID ON ROMMEL 2/10

can I reply to myself? thanks,I got the newish dvd pf TOBRUK and think it is really good, good action scenes and so on.
Odd that Tobruk is not as well known or liked as Guns Of Navarone.

When I said the film were confusing I meant they are similar to each other,Raid On Rommel and Tobruk and Play Dirty stick in my mind together but I rate Play Dirty as not as good as some people think, too much 60s hipness for me.
