now available for Private Purchase

As of 3 December 2007, we no longer need an educational license to buy this film.

It's available to individuals from the distributor, Zipporah. $35 for the DVD.

I just ordered mine. Apparently you've put the word out already!

God save Donald Duck, vaudeville and variety

reply

Be aware, however, that these DVDs from Zipporah Films are DVRs...

reply

FYI...By DVR (or DVD-R, as stated in the FAQ found on the Zipporah website), I mean it is a recordable DVD, not a pressed DVD, like you would buy when normally purchasing a DVD of a film at a store.

Here is what the Zippoarah website states, as stated in the FAQ found here:
http://www.zipporah.com/about

What are the technical specifications for the DVDs
All of the documentary DVDs are NTSC, 4:3/full screen with Dolby Digital Stereo audio. They are Region Free 0 and are on single-layer discs. Our lab uses high quality DVD-Rs, which have an archival life of 30-50 years.

I bought this DVD, and could immediately tell it was a DVD-R when I got it due to the purplish color of the recorded side. This is when I searched the Zipporah website and found the information in the fine print of the FAQ.

reply

Just ordered a copy. I'll finally get to see it.

35$ plus an EXTRA 25$ worth of shipping to Canada!!!? Rip off! :( Would love to get this and other Wiseman titles, but the shipping is way too steep and unwarranted (and considering it's a DVD-R, quite uncalled for!).

reply

How would I go about contacted the distributor to get this film?

You can get info about rental outlets in addition to purchase information.

I appears to be no longer up, something about the content. I´m still looking for it.

reply

Yep... No longer up... I do have the movie though but a very different source. My p2p program. I use Ares (aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net) and there's several instances of it up for download.

reply

Hmmm... would love a proper commercial release on this.

Why did viewers need an educational license before to purchase this film? Was it only available for purely academic reasons?
