Does anyone know who sang this song?

We're trying to think of the female singer who sang "Rose of Washington Square" as a background piece to this film. It appears on the original soundtrack. This bit of trivia is really haunting us.

Thanks.

Ann Dee (andy?) is credited as "singer" which must mean the saloon singer. I don`t know if it was her voice since the album doesn`t credit anyone with singing it. Strange!?!

Don't quote me on this, but I seem to remember years ago on "The Mike Douglas Show" the singer you're talking about made an appearance.

I think she talked about having a successful singing career but then losing her voice and then getting it back again - which led to her getting the part in the movie.

I may be imagining all this - but I definitely remember hearing a woman sing on TV one time (back then) who had that raspy quality that is so distinctive. I thought "That can only be the 'Rose' singer in TMM."

"Don't call me 'honey', mac."
"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"
