Jimmy and Miss Dorothy - Inconsistency?

I have always wondered, why does everyone at Muzzy's house play along, especially Judith Tremaine. We know she was after Jimmy, so why does she talk about him being a gardener's son for Millie's benefit? We know she's bitch, so she wouldn't play along to be nice. Did Muzzy pay everyone off or what?

If you notice, she says things which can be taken both ways 'he had such a green thumb' means he was good at making money.

If she told, Muzzy would never invite her back and her parties are the tops.

if you notice, she starts to reveil whats happening when millie ruins her dress...

Yeah, the double-meanings are important...

Some think Seventysevenyearoldguy is senile, so this is one of my last posts under that screenname.

Judith Tremaine gets a raw deal : She may be after Jimmy but she plays along with Jimmy and Dorothy's game and is somewhat civil to Millie when they meet.

MUZZIE squirts her in the eyes with the trick ring, which makes Judith's mascara run all over and ruin her new Paris gown, and yet Muzzie calls her rude and Dorothy calls her a bitch !
