Many of the sound effects were reused from other movies. At the start, I recognized the sound of the spaceships (meteorites) from several movies of the same decade. Also the sounds that the phasers made, etc.

Certainly, "Forbidden Planet" was a much better film.
But to say that "A lot of it is straight from "Forbidden Planet" is absolutely ridiculous.
Is there a daughter-father relationship?
Is there a rescue mission to a distant planet to look for survivors?
Is there a flying saucer? Do crewmen go through a procedure to adjust to hyper drive?
Travel to a distant galaxy?
Is there even a classy robot in "They Came From Beyond Space" ?
Any robot at all?
The answer to all these questions is NO!
I see no similarities whatsoever between these two films.
It's much closer to "It came from Outer Space". It's not much like "Forbidden Planet" at all.
