I can't imagine a freshman student being able to hone skills and style like here shown in Lucas's film. And plus a freshman can't pull off that kind of command with a camera. Does anyone happen to know at what year level Lucas was in when he filmed THX? If he pulled that off in his second year, then that's very very impressive stuff.
shareHe was a graduate. He graduated in 1966 but returned a year later in 1967 for their graduate program after he couldnt find any work and with the vietnam draft imminent. He was a teaching instructor for a class of navy students who were being taught documentary cinematography, which is how lucas got a free crew and access to cool futuristic navy machinery.
