HOW DOES IT END?

My DVR didn't record the last minutes of the film. I saw Hasan lifting the dam and releasing the water. Is that the end? Has Osman drowned or accepted defeat?

Was Bahar raped by Osman or did they have sexual relations, when she thought Hasan was dead? Hasan says to her "you were not to blame" so I wasn't sure what he meant by that.

You missed about one minute of footage. After he lifts the dam, he goes back to help his wife, who's injured, but will live. He carries her to the top of the dam and they watch as Osman's drowned body surfaces and then floats down the stream with the rushing water.

I think it's pretty clear that Osman raped Bahar. Hasan's "you were not to blame" statement probably, and unfortunately sometimes still today, implies that if a woman allows herself to be raped then she is as much at fault.

Thank you so much, NBBF. You were really helpful.

There are no implications.. You could feel the tension, but as bad as a guy Osman was, he tried to keep away, though towards the end, it's only said that he tricked her, but he "found out" about the death on the bus from other neighbors, and it seemed like he didn't care enough to inquire, so he is obviously a horrible brother, but the audience should come away with what the director's goals were.
