Like. I think this made for an excellent Criterion 'resurrection,' as is the companion file, 'Ride in the Whirlwind,' which I have never seen. I love 'The Shooting.'

Criterion did an awesome job on restoring The Shooting and Ride in the Whirlwind for this blu ray release. The colors looked muted, but that may be intended. Still worth being in any film lover's movie collection.

I purchased the Criterion DVD for fifteen bucks at a half-price sale at a local Barnes & Noble in Central New Jersey.

is the 2-DVD criterion set with one film on each DVD, or both films on the same DVD?

It's two films on one DVD with a bonus disc featuring a bunch of interviews.

wish they had done one movie on one disc and spread the extras over the two discs :-(
