3-D versions?

Supposedly, or so the legend goes, there was a 3-D version of this film released. But I am skeptical. Has anyone ever actually seen it for a confirmation?

I can't really see producer David F. Friedman plopping down the extra expense to shoot or print anything in 3-D. I knew the man and considered him a friend, but in all our talk over the years about his films even he never mentioned it... And as one of "The 40 Thieves" of film exploitation and self promotion, he surely would have. I have never seen any posters or press books for SHE FREAK that mentioned 3-D, and there are many floating around.

I think this may be where the mix-up came from...
The alternate title is ASYLUM OF THE INSANE. This is also the alternate title to the 1972 Pete Walker film THE FLESH AND BLOOD SHOW, which indeed had some scenes shot in 3-D. The only poster I have ever seen for the title ASYLUM OF THE INSANE is generic with no credits (also odd for a David F. Friedman film as he liked to self promote), though it did mention 3-D and the poster art would be more in keeping with THE FLESH AND BLOOD SHOW.

Any thoughts?

Asylum Of The Insane was a 3-D short directed by Donn Davison (Honey Britches) and was inserted into "borrowed" prints of She-Freak for use in Donn's roadshow.
