Alain Delon *swoooon*

I think he is the handsomest guy out there, at least when he was in his prime. I confess he is one of the reasons this is one of my favorite movies. who agrees?

reply

hahaha, same here!!! him in practically every shot :))

reply

LOL, I can't believe you responded to yourself like that.

Yes, Alain Delon was definitely one of the most, if not the most, handsome men on screen during the late 50s-nearly 70s (which I think was his "prime).

I had one film professor who admitted himself that he's "not gay, but found Delon attractive."

reply

Got a man crush on Delon... Man, he's so awesome.

yes, neither am I gay but I kept thinking throughout the film how I wished i looked like him.

I'm gay, but I'm not surprised so many men find him appealing. He's as pretty as pretty gets, but he also looks classically cool in a way that most fashion models don't. And yet there's also that strange quality he has of ethereal beauty that is close enough to feminine beauty that it strikes heterosexual men, too. You'd be very hard-pressed to find another actor with a similar quality. James Dean, possibly, although more so in pictures than in movies. Or possibly Paul Newman, who my straight uncle referred to as being "very handsome" -- and said it in such a way that it was as if it was an achievement of Newman's, rather than simply what he is.

reply

He' old enough to be my dad, but in his day he was a hottie! Do he still act?

reply

Yup, I totally saw this just for Delon. My goodness, there's something about his gaze that's mesmerizing. It's like he straddles that fine line between masculine and feminine beauty. None of his sons are nearly as good looking as he. His son with Nico is a bit too feminine looking and his son with Nathalie Delon is too gruff looking. Most beautiful men just don't have that cool factor that make them so marketable to both men and women. I think the only one that comes close are Rudolph Valentino, the swarmy silent film actor.

reply

James Dean was boyish while Paul Newman is classically handsome but neither were ethereal beauties like Alain Delon was. The one person I find to have been ethereally beautiful yet so very dark and dangerous was Al Pacino in The Godfather 2.

reply

Also Elvis Presley.

reply

I'm a straight guy but I definitely see the appeal. Some men today think being a big mouth meathead is attractive to women.
