I thought it was a damn good western myself. Slim Pickens and Martin were really swine in this one.

I'm seeing it for the first time now on Encore Westerns. Interesting to see Martin as the heavy and Peppard as the good guy. Their roles could have been reversed.

One of the things that surprised me with this movie is how Peppard seems to be costumed after the Django character in the spaghetti western series which had started in 1966.

Now Tarantin has resurrected the character in Django Unchained starring DeCaprio and the German actor from Inglorious Basturds and Jamie Foxx. Should be interesting to see what QT does with the character.
