Lillie Malone

A touring burlesque performer with a pre-occupation for her trophy diamonds, her vanity and aloofness wear off through her yin and yang relationships with Ferentino and Lord. I thought Melodie Johnson was terrific in the role, especially when she absolutely nails a very hot and sexy dance routine.

I AGREE COMPLETELY!! Melodie Johnson's vamp number was one of my earliest sexual treats as a youngster! WHAT A BLONDE BOMBSHELL!!....Terrific legs and an NAUGHTY little mind.....( GO GET UM MELODIE!)

Her singing was dubbed, but her dancing was all Melodie. What a great entrance, when she finishes off a demure song by dropping her robe and letting her hair down. The entire hall is understandably in a frenzy. Yes, she has terrific legs. That move where she raises up her right leg and rolls her hip is so sexy, it boggles the mind!

By 1967, there was nudity in many movies. There were a few scenes in this one where Melodie Johnson had opportunities to reveal more (could have stripped further in the dance hall, could have shown more in the skinny dipping scene) but I guess they would have had to pay her more.

I think nudity wouldn't have added anything more to her allure in this film. There's a scene in her dressing room where she strips out of her costume behind a dressing screen. The imagination takes over!

She is remembered for being forgotten.

Melodie is a very striking woman. She appeared on an episode of my favorite western TV show:Laredo. In the episode "Any Way The Wind Blows"she's part of a circus troupe that also robs banks.

She certainly was striking when dropping that long gown to reveal herself in skimpy lingerie. I'll definitely check out the Laredo episode. Another favorite of mine is her appearance in a "Love American Style" episode.

It's the first time I've ever seen her in anything. She should have been better known with bigger roles.
