Longest existing version?

Here is what Robert Osborne of TCM had to say when Play Time played on the occasion of Jacques Tati’s 101st birthday:

<<
The film they say also ran very long for a comedy, 145 minutes. Well, Tati then cut the film not once but twice, in order to make it shorter and more appealing to audiences, but it didn’t. And it wasn’t until years later that the film was restored to its original length and people revisited this original version of the film and, taking a second look, realized what a gem it really is, and that’s the version we’re going to bring you now. So, from 1967, the TCM premiere of Play Time.
>>

Alas, 124 minutes and 15 seconds later, the screen goes black without so much as a “Fin” and Mr. Osborne returns with nary a word of explanation as to why he’s back so soon. TCM’s database also claims a runtime of 145 minutes, but their main article on the film says “The most complete version today runs 124 minutes.”

(BTW, I realize Mr. Osborne is probably recording his “ins” and “outs” without full knowledge of what precisely will later be broadcast to all of us know-it-alls out here.)

No doubt, seeing more than 124 minutes of Play Time any time soon is more than we can hope for. But how about if the folks at TCM begin talking to each other once in a while to avoid promising more than they can deliver? Would that be too much to hope for?

Imdb says that the full version is 155 minutes (including intermission and exit music). According to Lucy Fischer's book on Tati, Tati had said that the original version is the only one he believes in. None of the DVDs and BluRays so far are longer that 125 minutes. Could it be that the original version really is lost?
