Its also candidate for being the most difficult movie to watch...for me its far more difficult than for example, Andrei Rublev.
But, it must be the most flawless movie ever made. The greatest is different from the most flawless.

While I'm trying to restrain from the "best ever" callings on the web, in case of Play Time I am inclined because the film is indeed a pure perfection and definitely one of the most interesting films I've ever seen. Dare I say, "the best" -- if you can enjoy it and I can.

Then why does it have such a low rating!?

Don't get me wrong, I've not even seen it yet, but all i hear is how brilliant this film is, and yet it's only got a 7.something?

I understand how the rating system works, but in the case of this film, surely the majority of people hitting this page are here to praise it, and I don't see why the few who "misunderstand" it, or else "find it boring" would be here to haterate, yknow? It confuses me the rating.

I'm about to order it now though, (:

It's far from perfect. It could be a great film, but as it is, it not even good. Why? Because Tati doesn't have a sense of rhythm.

The film is too slow, and most of the gags go unnoticed.

Also, the fact that upon each new release the movie has been shortened should tell us something.

So far, best film I've ever seen, no doubt. There's some magic in the movie too, and a lot of poetry.

I think it's definitely one of the five best films of the 1960s (I have yet to tackle an "all-time" list). Tati's timing and choreography are exquisite. I feel like I'm right there in Paris whenever I watch it.

I don't get this at all. Part of the joke is that Paris is on the periphery (e.g., Eiffel Tower in the mirror shot)...in fact except for a few details they could be anywhere (hence the joke with all the difference cities having the same image of the same building).
