Han Solo

Did anybody else think Tomas Milian looked like him in this one? He wore a really similar costume to Han's in the 1st Star Wars, save for the headband. And Tomas looks (to me) just like a young Harrison Ford.
I would bet that Lucas saw this one, but I wonder if he intended the similarity?

I've read this elsewhere too regarding the clothing.

He also looks like a Chuck Norris to me!

Also did you notice that Tomas is strapped down and interrogated in a very similar fashion to Han in Empire?

Being a life long Star Wars fan I love to pick up the influences, and I think Lucas was a huge fan of Leone, at the very least. And this one makes me think he was borrowing from others too. Watching a lot of the jungle adventure/cannibal movies out of Italy, I noticed lots of things that could be considered very similar to things in Jedi and the Indy movies. Maybe it's all just coincidence, but Tomas really does seem to be the prototype ANH-era Han. Down to the holster on his hip, even. Maybe I am mis-remembering but I seem to even remember pre-production sketches of possible Hans with headbands. I could be imagining that though.

I was just looking at this and told him that Thomas Miliam reminded me about Han Solo alot even the gunholster.

I thought that at one point, I'm glad I'm not alone. I do think Jango Fett's name was a tribute to the Django movies.

I came here hoping someone would have talked about this over the years. This movie is weird enough, and in top of everything else we get Tomas Milan dressed up as Han Solo years before Star Wars came out. 😀
