Few intro notes....

Since there are very few notes on the main IMDb page of this movie, can someone pls tell me if it's the movie where there are brain-like creatures creeping and crawling thru the movie and burning up people or am I getting mixed up with another 60s flick?! Thanx.

The movie you are describing sounds a lot like "Fiend Without a Face" from 1958.
It's set in Canada and the story revolves around mysterious killings that the locals blame on radioactive experiments at a nearby US Air Force base.

Here's the IMDB page for it:

Most probably far too late for a reply, but....the movie sounds like 'Island Of Terror', also with Peter Cushing and set on an island with a very similar 'feel' to it.

"Island of Terror" was a creepy one, that had those monsters called Silicates!
There was another one that came to mind called the "Trollenburg Terror" with Forrest Tucker about monsters that slithered around like that up on a snowy mountainpeak.

The Trollenburg Terror played on TV years ago with its name changed to The Crawling Eye - which was a pretty good descriptor of the proceedings

ISLAND OF TERROR was made by the same producer as NIGHT OF THE BIG HEAT. BIG HEAT is kind of an obvious attempt to capitalize on ISLAND OF TERROR's success. Even the monster at the end of BIG HEAT looks like one of Island's silicates. Cushing pretty much plays the same part in both movies.

Except for the fact that NOTBH is based on the novel of the same title by John Lymington that was published in 1959, well before these films. The aliens in the book were not the same, but that's more likely due to financial constraints, as the quick moving spider like aliens would have been too expensive, so the glow-blobs were a cop out.
