Anyone ID opening music + the Colombus song lyrics?

The music in the opening credits is beautiful. However I see 2 listings under the music:
One for Jean Wiener & one for Monteverdi. After researching the matter it seems that the Monteverdi piece listed in the credit (Magnificat) is what plays at the very end. So, I assume that the opening piece (which i'd love to get on cd) is by Jean Wiener. Anyone know for sure?

Also, only the first few lyrics of the song that the kids sing are translated ("Hope, there's no hope..."). Can anyone i'd this song? know the full lyrics?
