Hey, Blue Underground, how about a DVD release?

With the second Sumuru film, GIRL FROM RIO, now out on DVD, it would be nice to see this first Shirley Eaton/Sumuru film get the same treatment. Dated? Yes, it is. Campy? You bet. They just don't make eye candy films like they did in the Sixties.

In 2003, a new SUMURU film was made, although I have yet to see signs of a release. The associate producer on it was Maria Rohm, who was in both Sumuru films from the '60s, as well as in both of Jess Franco's Fu Manchu films (BLOOD OF FU MANCHU and CASTLE OF FU MANCHU), along with a number of other Franco horror/thrillers of that era.

Blue Underground had planned a release at the time they released THE GIRL FROM RIO, I don't know what happened! I think MGM (now with SONY) is the rights owner, so probably there is not much hope for a DVD release in the US. Sad!

It was beter than "The Girl From Rio". Somebody please release it on dvd, and Frankie's "Sergeant Deadhead" film too. They both have actors from the Beach Party series in!

Hopefully, it will be among MGM'S future ''LIMITED EDITION'' releases

I'd like a DVD of "The Million Eyes of Su-Muru" myself. I'm a big Salli Sachse fan and this is the only film of hers that I don't have. :(
There is a very bad copy of "The Million Eyes of Su-Muru" on YouTube, but it changes languages randomly and has fits of video quality dropping every so often. There are several YouTube listings, but they are all of the same copy. I wish YouTube would clean that up as well as get rid of the blatant advertising where people claim to be providing a "full movie" and it turns out to be a an hour+ * advertisement wanting the unsuspecting victim to go to their site to purchase the movie (unfortunately this is not one of them). I also wish IMDB would have an option to have an e-mail notify it's users if there is a reply to their Message Board posting.

* these people have become aware that the viewer can see the elapsed time of the videos, so they create ads that run the same time as the movie. Tricking the viewer into clicking on their ad. These folks (IMHO) make YouTube a less friendly place for the user.

You got your wish...
