such a wonderful movie

I didn't discover the films of Mikio Naruse until earlier this year, but I've been addicted to each I've seen so far. "Sound of the Mountain" and this film, "Scattered Clouds," are undoubtedly my favorite so far. Especially this one. I haven't felt so much emotion for two fictional characters in such a long time. Kayama and Tsukasa were wonderful in this movie. And it's also mesmerizing just to watch a great filmmaker doing what he does best. This is really one of those movies where I could watch just to see how everything is composed, edited, and directed. Combine that with a great story and solid acting, and you've got a really special film. Such a wonderful movie.
