From what episode was the beginning

I didn't know that this movie was two episodes of the Virginian spliced together. In the beginning wherein we see Kalig kill his step father because he chose to save the baby his mother was carrying instead of his mother. I assume it was from the episode with Lee Marvin because he had the telescope. But now I think it was from the episode with Charles Bronson. Does anyone which episode it was from.

Rony-3, I think your question has uncovered some completely new details. According to the 2013 biography entitled "Lee Marvin: Point Blank", Meanest Men in the West was released theatrically in Europe in March 1976, not 1967 as IMDB claims.

The boy, young Kalig, is played by actor Lance Kerwin. Lance was born in Nov. 1960 and didn't begin his acting career until 1974 when he was 13 years old. Actress Betty Beaird, who plays his mother, never appeared on an episode of The Virginian. Same for actor Regis Cordic, who briefly appears as the doctor. Michael Conrad is the only actor in those 20 minutes who actually did two episodes of The Virginian -- "The Stranger" (1969) and "Nightmare" (1970). In Conrad's case, take a look at his sideburns & long hair, personifications of '70s fashion.

Finally, The Virginian television series ended its run in 1971. So based on the evidence, the first 20 minutes of "Meanest Men in the West" is exclusive to the film and must have been filmed in late '74 or '75, years after The Virginian went off the air .

I love almost all Westerns, but this was impossible to follow due to editing, two episodes in one and Sam Fuller.
