and grace of Moreau.The closest to JM that America has produced would be Susan Sarandon, in terms of presence alone.Many actresses do not get the variety of roles that men get so they often need to rely on a feminine charisma that can't be learned.They need to act through their eyes too.Bette Davis never had it.Just being bitchy is not enough.Jeanne(despite her lack of height) had more sex appeal than Davis,Bacall and Katherine Hepburn(a dyke as it turns out) put together.
