now available on US DVD-R, 2010

This title has been released by the new Sony MOD program of Columbia films on DVD-R. This package is being sold by online merchants such as Critics Choice Video and Movies Unlimited. Other discs in this series have been letterboxed at 1:85-1 and anamorphic, so I assume that this one is, too.

Thanks for the info. The DVD-R is still available, I see. Has anyone bought a copy of this 'manufactured on demand' version? If so, what is the quality like? I've had a just about watchable VHS bootleg for years, but the picture is far from crisp. I'd love an upgrade but don't want to shell out for a version that isn't much better quality. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds...

The picture quality is very good. Sony has produced some of the best looking MODs (or DVD-Rs, if you prefer). It's properly letterboxed, too.
