Stupid Premise Which Likely Never Happened In The Old West

Two people equally skilled pitted against each other have no surety that one will always win.
Happens in the sports world all the time.

They would not risk their lives just to be known as the best. On any given day, the 'best' can lose to someone less skilled, let alone equally skilled.

The results of such a gunfight only proves that one was the best on that particular day. No one is going to risk everything they have or ever will have to prove something so small.

I don't understand why this movie was made. It reminds me of a made for tv movie. There are many well known character actors in it.

The acting is forced. The premise that a madame would be an accepted and respected member of the community seems absurd.

There were times I expected the cast to break out in laughter because the movie seems to be a parody of westerns, not a homage to old ones.

I can only assume you missed the scenes where they showed the audience just how un-respected she was.

She couldn't speak to her friend in public. The store keeper calling her trash, or something similar, after she left. Her having to sneak at night to visit her friend so no one would see.

Unless I'm confusing 2 movies, at no time did this story show her as respectable. Quite the opposite.

While what you're saying is logical, and probably true, this is a premise that's been used countless times in western movies and TV shows. It was almost expected back then. I'm not sure why you're solely picking on this movie for doing something most westerns did.
