question about when hanada goes into toilet

when he is eating with No.1, and No.1 suddenly rushes off to the toilet and hanada rushes after him, when he opens the toilet door, what exactly does he see? looks to me like some mad man, and hair in the toilet (like when he killed his wife). whats this supposed to mean exactly? to me it looks like he is imagining things, and him killing his wife is haunting him or something. but it all was so brief i dont think i fully got it.

Yeah that's the gist - he's plagued by memories of the things he's done.

The madman seemed to be badly burnt, perhaps referencing hitman no. 2 (Sakura) who was burnt to death at the beginning of the film.
