Being a great fan of Godzilla movies, having loved Godzilla vs Destoroyah, Godzilla 2000, Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, Gojira and many others, i decided to give this movie a shot.
I wish i could unsee it. I spent half of the movie asking myself "Is this a joke??" and the other half trying not to rip my own eyes out.
Sweet ending, thought. Because we all see Godzilla movies for the cuteness... i hated this movie.
Wow..all the movies you mentioned are on the top tier of Godzilla movies...not really a fair comparison...I'd lump Son in the bottom half of the tier (though better then vs. Gigan & some others).
I only saw it for the first time last night at my son's insistance myself...having seen Godzilla's Revenge in my youth enough times to make me puke, I actually enjoyed this one much better....also nice to see Kumonga having such a "large" (no pun intended) and well deserved role!

I wasn't really trying to compare, but to explain why I decided to watch it. However, now that I read what i wrote, it actually looks like a terrible example XD
