why would someone waste their whole review on trashing me?

I happened to come back to the comments for this film and was startled to come across [email protected]'s very long attack on me for not liking this movie. He states that I don't like Samurai movies or Japanese culture based on my not liking ONE MOVIE! I love Japanese movies. Seven Samurai is one of the greatest movies ever made. I love Japanese culture, which brought us FLCL, Spirited Away, Katakuri-ke no *beep* Parasite Eve (both the movie and video game), Katamari Damacy and Silent Hill.

When I see a movie, I want to say what I think of the movie, but John just goes on a rather libelous tirade against me. And why? Everyone except me likes the movie. Every single person here. Is it really so intolerable to have one dissenting opinion on this site?

The funniest thing is he thinks I'm 12 years old, because if he hadn't made that comment I would have assumed he was in his teens for the simple reason that as we age we begin to accept that it is okay for other people to disagree with us. I sincerely hope this guy is under 20, because if he's an adult who gets this outraged about someone disagreeing with his opinion of some movie then his perspective is really out of whack. If he's 15 then it's just the silliness of youth, but if he's 50 then man, he needs to rethink a few things. Either way he needs to chill out. I didn't like the movie, there are probably at least one or two other people in the world who didn't like it either (even, dare I say it, a copule of Japanese people) and poor John is going to have to live with it.

I with you. This John guy made too many assumptions out of one simple comment. He read your opinion and took it completely out of context. Your comment didn't even seem like an attack towards the movie, and his speech about educating yourself just made him look like a jackass.

He's wondering why IMDB put your comment at the end of the page (which has nothing to do with anything, must be random). I'm wondering why they put his comment on the page at all, he's not even commenting on the movie.

And since when do you have to know about about Japanse culture in order ot enjoy (or not) a Japanse film? I love Japanse movies, the classics as well as modern age, different genres, etc. But I know very little about Japanese culture and history, that doesn't mean I'm ignorant. It's like saying that you have to know the culture and history of every movie you watch, whatever that movie is about, or that you HAVE to like every movie you watch.

This John guy, he's got it twisted.

you're kinda spazzing dude. this site is full of jack*sses who spend their time trashing people's comments. the fact that you wrote a dissertation on why this john character's comments are misconceived is a little absurd. i understand your frustration, but really, who gives a sh*t?

Checkout all the crap TyLee896 writes in defence of Jaden Smith. Anyone that gives Jaden the slightest critique she goes on the defence like a wolverine with one leg caught in a snare! Seriously grow a pair and stop crying on line 😧
