This is Hilarious

Just saw this, and it is to swinging 60s British cinema what a Bruce Campbell movie (like "Bubba Ho-Tep") is to today.

The second half had me in stitches!

At first, I just thought it was bad and corny. Then, I saw it was supposed to be. Some great lines, too.

My fave was when the older lady near the end says, "One more tea with his mother and our friend, and I shall go insane."

Yeah, this film was a lot of fun indeed. Roddy McDowall was hammy perfection in the lead. Plus the ravishing Jill Haworth supplied plenty of tasty eye candy as the fetching Ellen.

"We're all part Shatner/And part James Dean/Part Warren Oates/And Steven McQueen"

Just finished It!, and thought it was very entertaining. Couple of thoughts/questions though:

-Why the plot about him keeping the corpse of his mother? At first I thought perhaps he would try to use a scroll to turn HER into a golem, lol. It was just one more weird detail in an already-weird movie.

-Why have other people see the golem come to life? The story would've been better if the killings were all committed by Pimm, and the golem was really just a statue. As a monster movie, it was just funny as hell.

Agree with the OP, though: I was entertained!!

I thought it was very enjoyable! It's got a light tone and is better viewed without trying to analyze any plot or detail. Roddy's great.
