I agree totally.I am waiting. They seem to bring some trash out quicker than the good movies. This movie really was a great piece of art.

reply

I hope they put this out.

I, too, hope this makes it to DVD - sooner than later. Saw it on TV as a child and it left a lasting impression!

I too saw this movie as a child and it needs to be on DVD, but guys its going to take us to make that happen. First I feel we are going to have to clean the film and sound up a bit before DVD release. This release should go straight to special edition with interviews galore and with the first tv Showing of the INCIDENT wich was cald RIDE WITH TERROR. I know they have this footage because A&E showed The Incident a long time ago and the host said that RIDE WITH TERROR wich is the play version was on TV. Had it not been for my dad I would have never seen this excellent movie with supperior acting.

I'm 23 and I love this movie.

reply

Hmmmm....After YOUR done cleaning it up and releasing it maybe you should see a shrink.

Ride w/Terror is a different movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0213196/

Maybe it's a time for DVD release, now that Ed McMahon has died. He had a small part among an excellent cast, but perhaps his name has enough pull to encourage that mysterious network of Hollywood types in charge of releasing old movies--perhaps Criterion (the movie is better than some of their releases.)

reply

That is not quite what most of us are hoping for. I think what we want is a studio-released version. One thing to do is go to Amazon...on the page for the movie, it will say it is not available on DVD yet, but you can sign up to be notified if it is. This counts as a sort of "vote" for the movie to be released, and if Amazon were to get a lot of these, I would bet they might notify the studio.

I saw this film on a bootleg DVD. Now I'm not sure how most people on this board feel about about purchasing that kind of disc, but I can tell you that the quality was great. I saw it on Tv not too long after and the quality was just as good. I promise you, find the right place to purchase a copy and you won't be dissapointed. This movie needs to be brought out of the woodwork becasue it is a forgotten classic.

reply

Maybe the Criterion Collection can do a release.

Hello Folks,

I hope it's relased soon. I didn't see the last 30 min of the movie yet. But it reminds me of what we all need to do to stop bullys. I hope to see the end soon.... :(

reply

I totally agree! brilliant! I saw it almost 40 years ago, it is unforgettable!

A DVD of this film would be sweet, preferably with a commentary by the surviving cast members or a restrospective interview featurette with same.

I know. I saw this movie on Flix back in 94 and was blown away by its' grittiness. I can't believe this movie's not on DVD. Where's Criterion when you need them?

reply

I remember back in the 1990s I had to "special order" this movie. I paid $29.99 to get it *New* and the video store didn't have movies In-Stock that were above $19.99 new.

I don't believe this movie ever came down in price before it went out-of-print.

I see it's still not on DVD as of 3/18/09.

Interesting.

I remember recording this on AMC (when it was American Movie Classics when they shown unedited movies) back in the early 1990s.

reply

AMC has turned into a cinematic waste dump. Sheesh.

THE INCIDENT is still a timely movie. I think so, anyway.

I've watched it thrice since I bought the CBS/Fox pre-record.

I too saw this movie when it was first released in South Africa sometime in the 1960's and it left a deep impression on me. This is now THE movie that I would love to see again but unfortunetely unlike some of you in the USA and possibly UK I don't think I have any chance of seeing this appear on one of our tv channels. So I am just hopeful that one day SOON it will be released on DVD and that my wish to see it again can be granted. Great movie.
