What a start to his career. He set the bar so high with this performance. That I can only imagine how difficult it would be to follow up with something that can even remotely come close to it.
It was such a naturalistic, raw, powerful performance. I was blown away by it.
agreed; wilson was superb, worthy of an Oscar nomination. wilson managed to make dick hickock (by most accounts a real a-hole even separate from the crime) appear almost likable.
I just watched this movie on TCM. I was impressed with the actor who played Dick. I looked him up on IMDb and was so surprised to see it was the same Scott Wilson who I know as Hershel on The Walking Dead.
AMAZING.
Anthony Perkins suffered the same fate. He was so great in Psycho he had a hard time finding a job because all anyone ever saw was Norman Bates.
