I read all of Arthur Bailey's wonderfully written books and equally enjoyed the movies made from the books. Soap operas....yes, but wonderful characters and engrossing stories. And in Hotel....the adorable Rod Taylor. Loved him in every movie I ever saw him. Shame he wasn't a bigger star but he did pretty well for himself. So glad I happened to catch it on TCM this week. What a treat!

shareI loved his books, as well. Too bad he is not as well known anymore. Always had a whole new backdrop and genre to his books....never repeated a story. He's one of those authors like Stephen King....a writer with genuine talent who writes commercial pulp novels. Nothing wrong with that....writing fun stuff, and writing it well, and making a buck or two while doing it.
But, yeah, I miss him. He was a terrific author.
