They are available on DVD and well worth watching. In Mexico you can get two of his best, "Rapina" and "La Guerra Santa". Also available, not quite as good but interesting nonetheless: "El Arte de Enganar", "El Deseo en Otono" and "Mas Negro que la Noche".
DVDs of "Hasta el Viento Tiene Miedo" and "Un Vagabundo en la Lluvia" are available in the US.

My fav movie from Carlos Enrique Taboada is "Veneno para las hadas" a film that IMO is a little masterpiece.
I also love: "El libro de piedra", a quite eerie and spooky film. "Mas negro que la noche" and of course "Hasta el viento tiene miedo".
All those films are some of the finest examples of gothic horror that I've ever seen. No wonder why Guillermo del Toro considers Carlos Enrique Taboada as one of his main influences.

From his "non-horror" films, "RapiƱa" is quite good. Finally, "La guerra santa" is perhaps the best film on "la guerra cristera".

No argument with any of you, except that while "La Guerra Santa" is a terrific film, it's not the definitive movie about the Cristero War. It overlooks the atrocities of the State's sides too easily. It's a great movie, but the definitive movie about that war is still to be done someday.
