Money To Burn

Wow, what a musical number this is. It kinda reminds me of that big scene in Seven Brides for Seven brothers with the barn dance. And to think it starts with one simple line "If I had the money I'd buy me a Banjo" I just wonder was it really Tommy Steele playing the Banjo in that scene, or was it feigned and syncronized to make it look like he was playing it? Does anybody know ? I have the feeling it was really him because he knows how to play guitar so why not the Banjo, but I'm just not sure.

Evan if it is him playing as musical songs are recorded first he would still be miming to the recordeing when it was filmed

And did you know that ,thiss scene was filmed at The New Wimbledon Theatre.

Just saw it last night he definitely appears to be playing.

He was 31 years old when he made the movie.

Is not film/video wonderful?

Last night I saw Mr. Steele perform at the height of his powers, wonderful.

He's now 68, without film one could only wonder at what he may have been able to do.

Perhaps that is why stories are so important. For in them our hero's both men and women, never grow old.

And in film we have that too.

It is wonderful. And interesting bit of syncronicity, I felt moved to take this DVD out of the Library, recall that is was on Broadway when I was a boy, my older brother actually got to see it. But found that his last name is the same as mine, Hicks. Seems his manager changed it for him.

Be well all,

Daniel
