Does anyone know if Half a Sixpence will be available in Europe on region 2DVD ?I was in the States recently and saw it was available there on region 1,and has been for a while.As it is a British film this seems rather unusual that it is not available here.

I can't say when it will be on Region 2, but the film, despite being shot in England, was an American production. It was backed by Paramount, and hence the reason it's appeared on DVD here first than overseas.

Thanks for that Blueghost.Since my original message it is due out here soon on DVD,although an exact date has not been given yet.

Oh, i always thought it was a Brit film.As a matter of fact if u check out the list of films produced in Britain in 1967 you will find HALF A SIXPENCE on that list so it matters not who backed it nor does the fact that it was released on dvd first in the USA mean anything.Practically ALL films are released on dvd in the USA first.I have even seen totally aussie films available on dvd in the USA before we have had them here.

It's usually because one of the major studios own the property.
