WTF ? - Referenced in "Return of the Jedi" ?

How ? When ? Where ?

If I remember it right, there's a scene towards the end of the movie, where Vader is inspecting the bridge of the Death Star prior to the final attack. One of the crewmembers is goofing off and watching old Earth movies instead of tracking the locations of the rebel fighters. On his monitor, you get a brief glimpse of the movie he's watching, which happens to be "Fitzwilly". I could be wrong about that, though.

...was "Long ago and far away"?

The past is a series of presents. The present is living history we are privileged to witness

Welll.... that wouldn't even make sense AT ALL in the Star Wars universe because it took place in the PAST and NOT the future as we would assume from SCI-FI.

OMG -- I was kidding! It's *ludicrous* to think that there could actually be a reference to Fitzwilly in ROTJ -- obviously someone at IMDb has screwed up!

(Although John Williams did compose the scores to both films.)

I knew you were spoofing, but I admire your imagination!

To finally answer this, one piece of music from ROTJ is similar to a piece of music from Fitzwilly. John Williams did both scores, so it's likely he borrowed from his past, intentional or not.

Anyway, that's hardly a connection (it's about as much of a connection as saying John Williams did the score for both movies) so I petitioned for the removal of the reference.
