'It's up to you IF you wanna do the Hot cha cha!'

Hahahahaha!! Such a funny movie! So much to laugh at. You will meet the fabulous 'Ron Don Colman' and his boss who sing-songs through out the film 'It's up to you to do the hot cha cha' until he needs to change the song lyric to prove a point and it becomes 'It's up to you IF you wanna do the hot cha cha'.

Oy. This movie will never get the acclaim it deserves. Too old, too Jewish, too obscure.

btw - 'Ron Don Colman' is played by Reni Santoni who went on to play 'Poppy' the incontinent restaurant owner in TV's SEINFELD.

Thank you! I knew there was something about 'Poppy' that looked familiar.
Love this movie!

It's him.

Tell your friends to check out the film. It's really a pretty funny with a good cast of well known faces including Rob Reiner in his first film

reply

Yes I agree. It's been about 30 years since I've seen it, and I remember laughing so hard when he finally gets his big chance on stage. Very funny. Great cast! I just want to see it again.

Fasten your seatbelts.... It's going to be a bumpy night!

reply

It was issued on VHS on Columbia Home Video.

DVD? I dunno...

Good luck!

Side splitting laughs on a Sunday afternoon the first time I saw it.

I didn't even remember making the original post in this thread!

I'm watching a film now -LADIES IN LOVE- 1936 that has the tune 'It's up to you to do the Hot cha cha!'in it. Waiting for a full version if it is in there. YouTube. Comedy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4NWikgm83Q

I didn't get the Poppie connection until I read this -- but on re-watching it, the facial and physical gestures are exactly the same as he used in Seinfeld thirty years later! (Reminds me of Uncle Louie turning up in "Shack Out on 101".). Santoni also has a notable bit in "The Pawnbroker" as a junkie. Thanks for the tip and the link. By the way, the maid in the play looks a bit like Carol Wayne (with her bust tucked in).

Good God! I actually posted here 10 or maybe 11 years ago! I was just talking about that song. I always say, Ha Cha Cha. whenI'm impressed. I remember the song well. I still love this movie!
