3-D?

Of all the times I've seen this movie there were several shots that looked like this movie was either intended to be 3-D or plans to make it 3-D were canceled during filming. The shots that I'm refering to are when Mississippi first shoots his shotgun at the catus he's shooting directly at the camera and another one is when one of the bad guys is killed in the church bell tower and he falls directly into the camera. These are useually shots used for 3-D effects. Anybody have any input about this?

Hondo was made in 1953 during the height of the 3-D craze. It's been shown on television in 3-D a few times. Otherwise, it's not easy to see in that process (I don't think there is a 3-D DVD version available). 'El Dorado' was made in 1966 and NOT in 3-D. Howard Hawks directed it with some in-your-face close ups in a few bits, but that was for effect.

I think the just did it for effect. Probly not entending it to be 3d or anything.
