Stumpy was 100% better than Bull

Dude was 75% better than JP, Colorado was 25% better than Mississippi. On the other hand, Joey was 100% hotter than Feathers. Rio Bravo is by far my favorite. But Feathers was the better actress.

Crackhead. I like Walter Brennan, but Stumpy was annoying as hell.

Agreed.

This is one of those personal taste issues, but Walter Brennan's Stumpy seemed like a wildly over the top impersonation of Walter Brennan. He had some funny lines but wore out his welcome really fast. Bull was more down to earth and was a person you could actually depend on. Stumpy seemed to be the town crackpot.

I like both equally. Stumpy was funnier (and was meant to be) but Bull was just as likeable in his own way.

Dude was 75% better than JP

I Preferred JP by far. Dude feeling sorry for himself got old fast. And I just found Robert Mitchum more convincing as the drunk.

Colorado was 25% better than Mississippi

I love Rio bravo but I always thought Ricky Nelson was out of place. James Caan was better as an actor and I much preferred the character. A guy in a western who's great with a knife but useless with a gun. Brilliant.

Joey was 100% hotter than Feathers

She was alright but hotter than Angie Dickinson in her prime? No way.

Yeah well, history is gonna change

Apples vs Oranges.

Both are great and serve different purposes.

I found Stumpy to be more loveable and Bull to be more of an accent to a punch line.

"Joey" in those tight jeans- OMG! Charlene Holt was one sultry, sexy lady too!

reply

I couldn't chose. I love both movies and don't see one being better than the other in any way.

reply

Feathers was 100 percent hotter than Joey. I'm not even certain Joey was a chick.

reply

- Stumpy was annoying and tedious, so I gotta go with Bull
- Hard to choose between Dude and JP
- Mississippi was way superior to Colorado (an entertaining actor vs. a singer who's stiff & bland as an actor -- not hard to call)
- Joey and Feathers are equally fine, but whoa-manly Maudie (Charlene Holt) might beat 'em both.
