USS Gallant (MSO-489)

The Navy ship Elvis is on is the USS Gallant (MSO-489), an Aggressive-class minesweeper, launched on June 4, 1954.

In 1994 it was sold to Taiwan and renamed to Yung Ku (M 1308) and is still in service as of December 2015.

That's over sixty years of active duty!

