Location of the house

Just watching this now and looking on Google Maps to try to figure it out. It can't be that hard. The PCH is very close to the beach, there's a strip of houses on either side of the road, and a dramatic curve near the elevated house. The address given in the movie is 11872 Mountain View Road. There is no Mountain View Road in the Malibu area. I'm still trying to find the exact location of the house on Google Maps!

UPDATE: Per the book "Hollywood Surf and Beach Movies: The First Wave, 1959-1969", the cliffside Malibu house was owned by actor Elliott Lewis. Still can't find it on Google Maps (yet)!

OK, now I see the view from the back of the house and I'm honing in! From the front of the house (assuming all views are from the actual location of the house), meaning the side away from the ocean, you can see down and to the left and there are buildings on both sides of PCH. From the back of the house, facing the ocean, I see there is a straightaway and then a share left curve as I look to the right (west) from the back deck. I don't see any buildings on the house side of the PCH in the immediate vicinity but I do see some to the west, before the sharp curve. Here are some potential locations:


22531 Carbon Mesa Rd -- location looks almost perfect except there are now buildings below the house on the house side. These could've been developed in the last 50 years.
