Voice dubbing does not sound like Burt Reynolds

The voice dubbed in over his speaking parts does not sound like him at all and after reading here that he hated working on this movie I wouldn't be surprised if he refused to act out the voice over. Does anybody know more about this?

That's how Burt sounded in 1966 or whenever he did this.

My wife & I just saw the movie and it sounded like Burt's voice to us.
